Book Week Parade!

Wow! we looked amazing all dressed up on Monday. We had an awesome parade in the hall with all the other year one classes. After morning tea Aunty Bea came to share some stories and songs with us and after lunch Mrs Weir came and read us a special story. This was a great start to our celebrations of Worlds Apart Book Week. This week we are  learning all about the author Lynley Dodd and her all her well loved animal characters.

Our Cross Country Run

In week 6 we had our cross country event. We have been training for this since the term began and we did really well at breathing and pacing ourselves to keep going. Ka rawe to Cohan, Joshua and Lucy for getting placed in the top 6. Please come and have a look at our awesome writing about cross country which we have published and put into our AFL folders.
Fantastic running and fabulous writing Room 8 well done!!

Assembly - Week 6 Term 2

We were very excited to host a whole-school assembly last week. We wanted to teach everyone about manaakitanga, because we are so good at showing manaakitanga in Room 8. We came up with our own idea of what manaakitanga means to us, and we shared this with everyone. Thank you Kiana, Priyesh, Elliot, Charlie, Cohan and Isla for talking to the school about manaakitanga. Well done Adelaide on being a fantastic host - you did a fantastic job, we are very proud! Even better, Mrs Woon spoke about manaakitanga too! Ka rawe Room 8! See some of our videos below.
